R&M has been supporting the City of Seward with this industrial harbor expansion project. Our current environmental efforts are focused on sampling, analysis, permitting, and disposal considerations for hundreds of thousands of cubic yards of excavated and dredged material. To facilitate both offshore and/or upland dredge disposal permitting, R&M compiled a sampling and analysis plan for agency review, and recently executed an offshore and upland soil and sediment sampling effort to characterize the dredge prism. Using this information, our environmental professionals will work alongside R&M design experts to compile complete permitting packages for review and approval by ADEC and USACE. The permitting effort will also tier off of ongoing Section 7 consultation (for another nearby project) for threatened and endangered species.
