The R&M team has provided construction administration, materials testing, and inspection services to a wide range of Alaskan clients and has established itself as a leading provider of construction administration services on publicly-funded projects.
R&M is currently seeking a team-oriented senior construction inspector to support construction projects throughout Alaska.
As a member of the R&M team, the Senior Grade/Paving Inspector will be responsible for documentation and inspection of federal and state-funded construction projects, including overseeing day-to-day construction operations. Tasks generally include ensuring product conformance with construction documents, quantity measurements, and inspection of embankment and aggregate placement, paving operations and utility installation.
The successful applicant for this position will be required to travel within the state of Alaska. This work is often seasonal and typically requires overtime hours.
The Senior Grade/Paving Inspector will report to a Project Engineer or Project Manager on a day-to-day basis, based on team organization for specific projects.
Minimum Qualifications
The position requires 15-25 years of experience in performing inspections on civil construction projects, with an emphasis in highway and airport facilities. Other desirable qualifications include experience on Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities construction administration projects, experience in materials testing, WAQTC certification, AK-CESCL, as well as basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. All candidates should have good interpersonal abilities for working in a dynamic team environment and strong written and verbal communication skills.
