Katherine Sakeagak

Staff Engineer

Katherine is a recent civil engineering graduate of the University of Alaska Anchorage. She joined R&M in 2023 as an Engineering Intern in our Airports Group. In this role, she gained valuable experience in developing airport layout plans, quality control processes, multi-discipline coordination and familiarity with FAA and DOT&PF design standards, and ASCE 7-22. Katherine recently rejoined R&M as a Staff Engineer in this same group where she assists in planning and design of airport engineering projects. Tasks include preliminary engineering and design development, including grading, profiles, typical and cross sections and civil details. Being an Alaskan Native, Katherine is excited to work on rural Alaskan projects.

    Indoor/outdoor rock climbing or hand crafts like sewing and beading.
  • What is a fun fact few people know about you?
    I have traveled through New Zealand, Mexico and Thailand already!
  • What are you curious about?
    Going on trips and admiring/analyzing everything from buildings to bridges.
  • What shows are you currently streaming?
    Currently rewatching the MCU series; next is the Lord of the Rings+Hobbit series.
  • If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?
    Being able to create portals to places I have been, I would love to be in another country without going through the hassle and money to get there!
