Chris Blitz, PLS Joins R&M as a Land Surveyor

Chris Blitz, PLS recently joined R&M as a Land Surveyor in the firm’s Geomatics Department. Chris will supervise work of survey parties engaged in collection, processing and mapping of survey data in support of airport, highway, railroad, waterfront and other civil infrastructure projects. He will also produce surveying and mapping products in accordance with current standards of practice.  

“R&M is well known in the state for their wide range of work in the survey industry. The knowledge base the Geomatics Department has is exceptional and the variety of work and clients we are engaged with are extensive. In working here, I hope to achieve more experience in Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) and aeronautical survey work.”

Chris has 12 years of experience working in the Alaska land surveying industry. He has worked in public and private sectors performing right-of-way, control, boundary, alta, residential, design and aeronautical surveys. Chris began his land survey career in November 2012, when he accepted an intern position with DOT&PF during his first semester in the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Geomatics Program. Throughout his career, he has worked in field and office capacities.

Chris has a B.S. in Geomatics from UAA. He is a professional land surveyor licensed in Alaska and a member of the Alaska Society of Professional Land Surveyors. On the weekends, Chris can usually be found trying to sleep in, sledding or swimming. He also loves traveling, reading and exploring the great outdoors with family.
