Graphic Designer
In A Nutshell
R&M is looking for a team-oriented Graphic Designer to support expansion of our graphic design team.
As a member of the R&M team, the Graphic Designer will provide support in print and digital graphic communications to the firm’s marketing and technical staff in implementing initiatives that support R&M’s vision, mission and core values, and our well-established branding initiatives.
As a member of the R&M team, the Graphic Designer will provide exemplary personalized service to the Marketing Department’s internal clients: the Engineering, Planning, Earth Sciences, Construction Services and Geomatics Departments within R&M. As a member of the marketing team, the successful applicant will work with other marketing and administrative professionals, as well as inter-departmentally to support R&M’s professional disciplines in reaching their marketing, communications and project goals.
This is an on-site position, based in R&M’s Anchorage office.
The Graphic Designer will be expected to actively participate and represent R&M in professional organizations (such as the Society for Marketing Professional Services and/or American Institute of Graphic Arts) and community activities.
The Graphic Designer will report to R&M’s Senior Graphic Designer.
On Any Given Day
On a typical day, the Graphic Designer will:
- Collaborate with marketing and/or technical staff to create and execute design concepts in support of project and marketing efforts (project logos, infographics, maps, etc.).
- Design and layout proposal and report documents and supporting graphics.
- Design presentations, advertising and special event items (event invitations, holiday cards, trade show graphics, branded merchandise, etc.)
- Maintain visual appearance, usability and brand continuity.
Minimum Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Art, Graphic Design, Graphic Communications or a related field, and a minimum of three years of professional experience. Experience in the A/E/C industry is a plus. The successful applicant will be able to work in supervised or unsupervised settings, either alone or with group interaction, and will possess good interpersonal abilities.
This position requires high-level expertise in Adobe (Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) software and experience delivering digital and print design solutions. Experience with Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro and Firefly is a plus. Candidate should possess professional skills in Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) programs. Familiarity with WordPress and/or other web design and content management systems is a plus.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio that showcases their creative style, technical skill and diversity of project experience.

Strong graphic, verbal and written communication skills, precise attention to detail, excellent computer skills, creativity, positive attitude and a sense of humor are required.
