Brandon Shayan, WAQTC
Staff Engineer
Brandon started at R&M in 2022 as an Engineering Intern. In that role, he spent several summers working as a lab technician in R&M’s materials laboratory, and as a materials technician and construction inspector for airport and highway improvement projects in Alaska. Brandon recently graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a Civil Engineering degree and is now assisting with design of road, highway and trail projects as a part of R&M’s Surface Transportation Group.

What places are on your travel bucket list?
I'd love to visit Italy for the food and architecture, Greece for the island hopping and Spain for the culture. -
If you weren’t doing your current job, what would be your dream job?
I'd love to be a Formula Drift competitor and pro surfer. -
What are you curious about?
I'm fascinated by String Theory and Quantum Mechanics. -
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was three years old I saw Star Wars The Phantom Menace for the first time. Ever since then I've wanted to be a Jedi. -
What is one skill you are currently working on?
I recently fell in love with hiking, so I'm trying to get better at it.
