R&M is leading the collaborative development of an updated Comprehensive Recreational Trails Plan for the Fairbanks North Star Borough. Plan development is based on the most recent available data and significant public participation to define goals, policies and guidelines with actionable strategies to guide the Borough through the next 10-20 years of trail management and development. The plan will reflect the community’s quality of life and recreational priorities for a world-class system that will enhance the economic vitality of the region’s natural and built trail resources. R&M is developing a detailed inventory and analysis of the existing recreational trails system, which will be a valuable resource for the Borough and the public.
The updated plan will reflect current recreation uses and patterns, define needs and desires, and provide actionable guidance in the short- and long-term for improved recreation experiences for FNSB residents and visitors.
