R&M provided Alaska Aerospace Corporation with the support needed to prepare an Environmental Assessment meeting FAA guidelines and NEPA regulations to expand launching capabilities at the Pacific Spaceport Complex-Alaska (formerly Kodiak Launch Complex). Assessment and identification of potential environmental effects included an agency scoping meeting, a public meeting, and continued coordination and consultation with numerous local, state and federal agencies. NEPA document preparation included extensive threatened and endangered species consultations with the USFWS and NMFS, Section 106 Consultation, evaluation of recreational resources (4f), as well as an in-depth assessment of potential air, water and noise effects.
