This highway rehabilitation project in the communities of Bird Creek and Indian included the H&H design of four fish culvert crossings and six stream realignments on two fish streams. The replacement of the Indian Creek Bridge required scour analysis and riprap design, detailed regulatory floodplain modeling, development of a Location Hydraulic Study, and acquisition of an MOA Flood Hazard Permit. The highway and the railroad closely parallel each other within the project corridor, which necessitated analyses of potential hydraulic impacts to the railroad from highway drainage improvements. Six new railroad culvert crossings were designed where hydraulic impacts were identified.

This project extended the roadway surface life, improved safety and reduced congestion along this Scenic Byway.
