Seward Housing Feasibility Studies

Client
City of Seward
Location
Seward, Alaska

The City of Seward is exploring development opportunities for its vacant land to meet community housing needs and to advance their vision and goals. Part of the City’s land inventory includes an 1,828-acre parcel on the east side of Resurrection Bay near the Seward Marine Industrial Center (SMIC) and the 11.57-acre Hemlock Subdivision, which is currently part of Forest Acres Park near downtown Seward. R&M is assisting the City with feasibility studies to help them identify opportunities and constraints of the sites and present development options based on community goals and municipal code requirements.

The City of Seward is in critical need of housing for current and future residents who want to live in the community because of the lifestyle and employment opportunities it offers. With low housing inventory, Seward is catalyzing City-owned land to spark development opportunities to meet community demands.
