This project will rehabilitate Runways 10-28 and 3-21. R&M developed an innovative solution to settlement occurring at the end of Runway 10 using 1,222 8” micro piles to support the end as a “bridge” structure.

Erosion caused by the Ninglick River is estimated to impact the Newtok Airport by 2022. R&M provided surveying, geotechnical investigation/recommendations, public involvement, NEPA support, permitting, and civil engineering for a new airport to serve the relocated community.

Aaliq joined R&M during the 2021 construction season to support R&M’s Construction Services Department, working on construction administration projects throughout Alaska. He is an experienced engineering technician who has worked in laboratories, project management and engineering design. Aaliq has performed grade, paving and electrical inspections, and materials testing for road, building and harbor projects.
Cody has 10 years of engineering experience on small- and large-scale road improvement projects. He will oversee and perform analysis and design tasks related to road and highway projects.
